Techniques
An ever-growing vast library of ideas and techniques to apply to your everyday salon clientele. This course features four brand new techniques for the hands-on workshop.

The Glayer
An intelligent commercial technique working with subtle disconnected panels of weights that offers a modern shape and versatility for clients with different densities and longer lengths of hair.

The Alpha
Working with alphabetical shaped letters of disconnection. Commercial yet creative, this technique is designed to create softness & movement and can be applied to medium & longer lengths.

The Deconstruction
A commercial yet creative technique that offers a cool and effortless feeling to clients who want a more interesting take and broken feeling within the block silhouette of curls and tighter texture.

The BoHo Bob
A gorgeous blend of graduation and layers, combining weight and movement for a cut that's both polished and effortlessly wearable.

Everything You Need to Know About Your Salon i-Deas Experience
Salon i-Deas is a 3-day immersive hair education course by GS Education. It teaches the technical and emotional approach to haircutting with the GS Heart to Hand Philosophy, giving you the confidence, skills, and ideas to widen your day-to-day repertoire of techniques.
Salon i-Deas is designed for hair professionals at all levels and from all brands and backgrounds — from salon assistants to experienced stylists and salon owners. No specific brand affiliation is required. Whether you work with Wella, L'Oréal, or any other brand, this course is for anyone looking to expand their technical repertoire and develop a deeper connection with their craft and clients.
Heart to Hand connects the emotional and technical sides of hairdressing. It's the bridge between your technique owning you and you owning your technique — combining communication, listening, suitability, and technical mastery.
This edition features four techniques: The Glayer (Day 1), The Alpha (Day 2), The Deconstruction (Day 3 AM), and The BoHo Bob (Day 3 PM). Each includes a live demonstration followed by a hands-on workshop.
You'll need your own scissors (blunt & thinning), razor with extra blades, combs, sectioning clips, flat brush, round brushes, hairdryer with nozzle, curling iron, electric clippers, straightening iron, water spray, and finishing bristle brush.
Accommodations are not included, but Vancouver's downtown area offers plenty of nearby hotels and Airbnb options within walking distance of the venue. Our team can provide recommendations upon request.
We keep the group intentionally small to ensure an intimate, focused learning environment where every participant gets direct interaction with the educators.
Yes! Day 3 concludes with an official GS Heart to Hand certification presentation. You'll receive recognition for completing the Salon i-Deas course.
